This guide is for Data Collectors.

Requirements

To collect farmer data, you must have an activated account and be able to log in to the Acorn Data Collection Tool. You also need to be able to physically find the farmer you want to visit.

(Optional) Download a Map

If you want to use a map while measuring in a new polygon, download an offline map beforehand. This map will be available on your device even without an internet connection and includes polygons from enrolled farmers. Follow these steps to download:

1. Open the Acorn Data Collection tool.
2. Select 'Offline maps' in the bottom navigation bar.
3. Use the search bar to find where you want to go (optional).
4. Use the layer icon to switch map layers (optional).
5. Adjust the zoom level to your liking.
6. Name the map and select 'Download' to finish.

<aside> ⚠️ While a map can be a helpful visual aid, it is not always necessary, even in areas with many enrolled farmers. This is because you can also receive overlap feedback when you are back online and submit (synchronize) the collected farmer data.

Collecting Information

Follow these steps to collect information:

1. Open the Acorn Data Collection Tool.
2. Select 'Farmers' in the bottom navigation bar.
3. Select 'Add new Farmer' or choose an existing farmer profile.
4. Walk through the steps to finish the collection.
