For Data Collectors

<aside> ❓ Polygon adjustment means adding, deleting or moving the individual markers that make up a polygon. This is currently only supported in the app on Adnroid devices. This means it requires re-assigning a farmer to a data collector.

Requirements

To adjust polygons using the Acorn Data Collection Tool, you need to have an activated account and be able to log in to the app. Additionally, you will need to meet one of the following criteria:

Introduction

Adjusting polygons is a useful functionality for two main reasons. First, satellite inaccuracy can result in the placement of a marker on an already-existing plot. Second, overlapping polygons can be adjusted without requiring the data collector to return to the field and re-measure the entire plot.

Steps

To adjust a polygon:

  1. Open the app.
  2. Select the farmer profile to which you want to adjust the polygon.
  3. Navigate to the plots and select the plot you want to edit.
  4. Select the “Edit” icon (located next to the plot name).
  5. You can now adjust the polygon in the following ways:
    1. Use the “+” icon to add a new marker.
    2. Use the right and left arrows to select the marker you want to edit.
      1. Use the “Remove” button to delete the marker.
      2. Use the “Move” button to replace the marker.
    3. Once you are done, click the “✓” button to save the edited polygon or click “X” to discard the changes.

When you are done, you can submit the farmer profile to send it to your Project Coordinator
